A farmyard set amid beautiful scenery in Modalen, in green fields surrounded by wild mountains. A good base for walks in the Stølsheimen range in summer and winter alike. You can walk in the forests and countryside, pick berries, fish in the rivers and lakes, and hike in the mountains. Starting point for Seljestigen Fjellturar, a walking trail which offers views over half of western Norway in fine weather. About 1 km from shop, 15 km from PO, bank and petrol station.

In the innermost reaches of the Osterfjord, on the quayside in Mo village, Modalen Sjø og Fritid is a holiday complex in a rural setting. Adjacent to shop, PO and bank. Excellent base for walks in the Stølsheimen mountains, cycling and fishing trips. Marina with boats for hire. Fine lokation with free view at the top of Modalen close to the entrance to Stølsheimen. Pigs, goats, sheep, calves, chickens and geese are the masters of the courtyard during summer. choose among lots of activities such as goat cheese cooking or hiring a boat to go fishing on a large lake. In the winter season Nygard and Nystølen can be recommeded for skiing.
